WHSmith Travel appoints Amscreen as exclusive digital signage partner

Digital signage company Amscreen today announced it has been appointed by WHSmith Travel as its exclusive digital signage partner in a five year deal. Amscreen's close proximity signage units will now be used as WHSmith's instore plasma network across the Travel business.

The screens are strategically positioned by payment points, queuing areas and above newspaper stands, they will be used to convey messaging on relevant products and promotions.

The WHSmith Travel network will be utilising Amscreen's bespoke 'plug and play' technology, which allows screen content to be updated remotely and in real time without the need for any extra cabling or IT infrastructure, on site.

Simon Smith COO at WHSmith Travel commented: "The Amscreen technology is the ideal solution for our environment, as it provides us a scalable high quality means of communicating with the millions of customers that pass through our WHSmith Travel stores."

Simon Sugar, CEO at Amscreen commented: "We are excited to be working with WHSmith Travel. Its high footfall network reaches a vast audience of travellers and we see it as a good extension to our forecourt convenience store network."
