Apprentice winners, Lee McQueen and Yasmina Siadatan have driven Amscreen Healthcare to success over the last two years with numerous PCTs and GP surgeries now utilising its digital signage technology to communicate more effectively with patients and deliver targeted messages on a range of health issues.
Since Amscreen Healthcare was established in 2008 and by introducing its new technology, the company has increased its screen deployment from 100 viable sites to over 500, this is expected to rise to 800 by the end of the Summer. With McQueen heading up advertising sales and Siadatan managing site acquisitions the business has gone from strength to strength providing the opportunity for over 2 million people to interact with the screens on a monthly basis.
Simon Sugar, CEO at Amscreen said: "Our bespoke 'plug and play' technology allows screen content to be updated remotely and in real time without the need for any extra cabling or IT infrastructure on site, providing complete ease of use for GP surgeries and hospitals. In addition, we have developed a unique offering to the healthcare sector underpinned by our M2M monitoring technology, which ensures that our screens are continually connected and messages are being published in real time.
Unlike our main competitors, our digital signage screens are free to GP surgeries, hospitals and PCTs are not charged for messages or for the production of the creative. We also assist our advertisers by providing 100% transparency on screen locations, which are interactively mapped out via postcode. Above all, our state of the art, fully monitored system ensures advertisers are getting the most from their investment. With full campaign compliance and proof of play reports provided, advertisers may rest assured that their messages are being broadcasted to their target audience."
The screens have been installed in GP surgeries, hospitals and dentists up and down the country and can be viewed in prime dwelling areas such as waiting rooms, corridors and coffee shops where the average dwell time is approximately 20 minutes.
Companies such as Unilever, GSK and Pfizer along with the Government's COI are among the many customers that advertise products and services such as Vaseline, Serious Quitters and Surestart Campaigns to the captive audiences in GP surgeries across the healthcare network.
Some of the healthcare customers utilising the close proximity signage as part of their NHS strategy include:
Nick Worner, Head of Communications and Engagement, NHS Hounslow:
"Amscreen has designed a solution that is a perfect fit for the healthcare industry. Its screens are free of charge to GP Surgeries and best of all they do not charge for the creatives, which is extremely important with current NHS budgets and they offer more screen time to our practice than any of their competitors. In terms of the technology, I feel confident that messages are published in real time, as its M2M technology ensures that the screens are constantly monitored."
Amscreen Healthcare enables sites to create and upload their own content via their Client Automated Remote Media Scheduler (CARMS). Launched in December 2009, the technology allows clients to broadcast as many messages as they desire and CARMS dynamically schedules these to play within a defined "content loop". Depending on the number created and allocated airtime, CARMS can automatically shuffle messages into the "next loop" in-order to maintain the airtime split with media from other sources.
Alan Moore, practice manager at Great Sutton Medical Centre commented: "We are extremely pleased with the CARMS technology. We have full control of what messages patients and visitors see, as it is all handled in-house via the web portal. The system is very easy to use and is ideal in our GP surgery, as we need to get a number of messages out at any one time."
